Class AA girls: Wesleyan takes fourth title in five years (3/8)

By The Associated Press
MACON -- Erin Hall scored 22 points, hitting six 3-pointers, to lead Wesleyan to a 79-40 win over Paideia in the Class AA girls state championship game.

The Wolves (30-3) won their fourth title in five years on Saturday. Wesleyan lost to Greater Atlanta Christian, 73-48, in last year's title game.

The game was shortened because of the GHSA mercy rule. If a team is ahead by at least 30 points going into the fourth quarter, six minutes are put on the clock instead of eight.

Wesleyan held a 34-point lead heading into the final period.
The Pythons (25-8) had a tough time after the Wolves opened the contest by jumping out to a 13-0 lead. Nine of those points were off 3-pointers, which included two 3's made by Aysia McKenzie.

Ann Marie Armstrong scored 13 points for Wesleyan. Aneesah Daniels led Paideia with 17 points.
