TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA - Pitcher Matt Fairel only allowed one run in eight innings to help lead Florida State to a 11-2 victory over Georgia Tech on Saturday.
Fairel (4-0) held Georgia Tech (12-3, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) scoreless until the fifth inning when Luke Murton hit an RBI single.
Georgia Tech didn't score again until the ninth when it added a run from Murton's sacrifice fly.
Jason Stidham hit a three-run homer in the eighth inning for Florida State (15-1, 5-0), which picked up two runs in the second inning and added four more in the fifth.
Georgia Tech's Eddie Burns (2-1) allowed five hits and six runs in five innings.
