Baseball: Spartans end streak with win over Johnson (3/20)

OAKWOOD - West Hall snapped a two-game losing streak with a 6-3 Region 7-AAA win over rival Johnson Thursday.

The Spartans (3-5, 2-2 in region) held off the Knights as both teams commited four errors.

Matt Boone earned the win for West Hall pitching five innings and allowing three earned runs. Brian Ernst pitched two scoreless innings to pick up the save.

Bobby Wirsing took the tough-luck loss for Johnson (3-5, 0-4) tossing a complete game and allowing just three earned runs.

Chan Morris, Ernst and Brandon Grindle each had two hits for West Hall.

Six different players had a hit for the Knights.
