A Night of Honor for Hall educators

GAINESVILLE - It was an annual night of honors for Hall County educators during the Night of Honor at Chestatee High School.

Assistant School Superintendent Richard Hill said three teachers became national board certified this year.

"It's like receiving a graduate degree in education. It's a very rigorous process," Hill said.

Michelle C. Rosales from Chestatee Middle School, Yelina Fernandez from Myers Elementary School and Kelly Schollaert from South Hall Middle School are Hall's national board certified teachers for 2007-08.

Hall County's teachers of the year from all schools were also recognized, along with 66 certified and classified retirees with a total 1,500 years of service.

Dr. Joel Aquino from West Hall High School was named system teacher of the year.
