DAHLONEGA - Acting on information from concerned citizens, the Appalachian Drug Task Force and the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office began an investigation recently into possible drug activity at houses located at 1458 Claude Parks Road and 74 Norris Road.

Officers say that through that investigation they developed enough evidence to continue the investigation and that search warrants were executed on May 8, resulting in the arrests of nine people who are all charged with drug related offenses.

"We're glad to clean up this part of our community," Lumpkin County Sheriff Mark McClure said Wednesday. "We take this very seriously in Lumpkin County."

During the raid on Claude Parks Road, investigators say they located marijuana, scales and a marijuana grinder. William Fay Hoshaw, 41, and Melissa Jo Hoshaw, 41, both of 1458 Claude Parks Road, were arrested and charged with one count of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and one count of selling marijuana.

During the execution of the search warrant at 74 Norris Road investigators located methamphetamine, marijuana, scales and a firearm. Those charged in connection with 74 Norris Road are as follows:
