Lanier inflows at lowest levels ever

By Staff
UNDATED - It's another sign that drought conditions are not getting any better... at least where Lake Lanier is concerned.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said Tuesday water flows into Lanier are at their lowest levels ever.

Both the Chestatee and Chattahoochee rivers are flowing at near record lows for the date. The corps says the lake is pulling only about 26 percent of its normal inflow right now.

The lake level early Wednesday morning was 1057.32... and is down more than a third of a foot (.33 of a foot) since the end of May. The corps said a few days ago that the level might go down another foot by July 4.
