Flowery Branch, North Hall have good showing at Collins Hill Classic

LAWRENCEVILLE - The North Hall and Flowery Branch girls volleyball teams completed play in the Collins Hill Classic Saturday.

North Hall knocked off host Collins Hill 25-17 and 25-21 but then fell to Blessed Trinity 25-9 and 25-11. The Lady Trojans also dropped a match to North Cobb 25-23 and 25-16.

Katherine Filchak had 11 kills and 11 blocks and Lauren Gregory had 6 assists, 2 aces and a service run of 6 straight for the Lady Trojans. Kathryn Bell had 21 assists and 8 aces and Evann Rowland had 17 digs for North Hall.

For Flowery Branch, the Lady Falcons (20-8) were swept by McIntosh in the seeding match but rebounded to beat Centennial 2-1 in the first round of eliminations. Flowery Branch lost to eventual tournament champion Blessed Trinity 2-0 in the Gold Bracket quarterfinals.
