MT. AIRY -- Habersham Central held Winder-Barrow to just 22 yards rushing in taking a 46-6 blow out win in Region 8-AAAA action Friday night.
The Raiders (2-3, 2-3 in region) scored on their first four possessions of the game and also got a touchdown on an interception return from Randy Hatcher to lead 36-6 at halftime.
David Griffin scored on a 1-yard run, Kevin Ellison added scoring runs of 13 and 4 yards before Hatcher's interception, and Josh Wellborn booted a 24-yard field goal to give Habersham a 30-0 lead. Winder-Barrow (0-4, 0-4) finally got on the board with 43 seconds left in the half on a 5-yard pass from Christian Davila to Cedell Long.
Kevin Ellison answered the Bulldoggs score with a 90-yard kickoff return to the Winder 5. Austin brown then hit Dee Ellison on a scoring pass on the next play to make it 36-6.
Habersham added a 21-yard field goal from Sam Cantrell in the third quarter and a 7-yard scoring run from Zach Burpee to finish the scoring.
The Raiders piled 299 total yards of offense - 228 on the ground - while Winder managed just 198 total yards.
