United Way Young Leaders hold first meeting

By Jerry Gunn Reporter
GAINESVILLE - United Way of Hall County grew a new arm to reach for community support Monday afternoon with the formation of the Young Leaders Society on the square in downtown Gainesville.

United Way invited Gainesville/Hall's young leaders and young adults to Scott's on the Square for the kick-off event.

Society chair Kelly Lee, who is chair elect for the United Way campaign next year, said she hopes to get more young adults involved.

"It's brand new, it's for people in their 20's, 30's and 40's to get involved in United Way," Lee said. "We're trying to cultivate the new leadership givers to United Way of the future."

Featured guest speaker was Atlanta United Way President Milton James Little.

"It's important to make sure that young people understand civic involvement and see the United Way as a big partner in the community," Little said.
