GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commission Chairman Tom Oliver Wednesday instructed Tax Commissioner Keith Echols to give the Commission a detailed report on property tax collections at the regular meeting on Thursday.
Echols said at Wednesday's Commission work session collections are 10 percent off, coming in an 85 percent instead of the usual 95 percent this time of year due largely to delayed payments from developers with a large number of unsold building lots.
Oliver said this is a clear measure of how the economic downturn is affecting county revenues.
