Auburn man killed in Friday traffic wreck

AUBURN - Gwinnett County authorities said an Auburn man was killed and his passenger critically injured in a Friday afternoon accident.

Gwinnett police identified the victim as Timothy Christopher, 45, of Auburn. Investigators said Christopher was attempting to turn left in his 2007 Honda Accord onto Auburn Road from Belfaire Trace. He apparently failed to yield and turned into the path of a 2004 Hummer H2 that was traveling north on Auburn Road.

A passenger in Christopher's car was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center where she was last listed in critical condition. The driver of the Hummer H2 sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
