CUMMING- Forsyth County commissioners this coming week will vote on a 2010 operating budget, and it looks like that budget will be balanced on the backs of county workers.
Commissioners meet Monday at 2:00 p.m. to review the budget outline; a formal vote is set for Thursday, December 17. Forsyth County is looking at almost $12 million in increased expenditures. To offset the increases, the budget includes 12 furlough days for county employees, including seven holidays, as well as higher costs to employees for health insurance. There are no raises or merit bonuses in the budget, either.
