Retiring Police Chief Frank Hooper honored

GAINESVILLE - It was an afternoon of honors and memories Friday for outgoing Gainesville Police Chief Frank Hooper at the Civic Center.

Friends, colleagues and relatives filled the Sidney Lanier Room at a reception to honor Hooper, a 32-year law enforcement veteran, with 12 of those years as Chief of Gainesville Police. Hooper said he was honored to serve them, and the city.

"It's been a pleasure to serve as your police chief and I know I'm leaving the department in good hands," Chief Hooper said. "I appreciate the work that you all do, every day."
