NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE -- Jeremiah Crutcher scored all 16 of his points in the second half and Tennessee State defeated Detroit 78-75 on Saturday night.
Tennessee State (9-17) shot 58.6 percent in the second half (17 of 29), including 66.7 percent from 3-point range in the frame (8 of 12) to overcome a 32-28 halftime deficit.
Detroit (7-20) led 36-32 with 17:14 left before the Tigers went on a 10-2 run to take a 42-38 lead on a Jeremiah Crutcher 3-pointer with 14:46 left. The Titans took back the lead, 68-67, with 3:02 left on a Donavan Foster jumper.
The Tigers responded with seven unanswered points. Jerrell Houston capped the run with two free throws for a 75-68 Tennessee State advantage with 1:43 remaining.
Houston paced the Tigers with 17 points and former Chestatee High standout Parker Smith added 14.
Michael Harrington scored 14 points and Stephens notched 13 for the Titans.
