Baseball: No. 4 Lakeview pounds out win over Tallulah Falls

TALLULAH FALLS -- Lakeview Academy pounded out 18 hits and Taylor Simpson fanned nine batters in a complete-game effort as the Lions routed Tallulah Falls 18-2 in five innings Thursday in Region 8-A baseball action.

Brett Armour led the offensive explosion hitting for the cycle, driving in four runs, scoring four times, and stealing two bases. Haughton Carswell also had four hits and four RBI and Nick Saye had three hits and four RBI as well for the Lions.

Simpson allowed just three hits for Class A fourth-ranked Lakeview (15-1, 9-0 in region) which remained one game up on Commerce in the region standings.
