DAHLONEGA - Students from the School of Education at North Georgia College and State University will not take a scheduled trip to Mexico... thanks to the swine flu.
In a statement released Friday, NGCSU president Dr. David Potter said the university is monitoring the swine flu situation closely, and that there is no cause for undue alarm. Potter emphasized that there are no suspected or confirmed cases of the H1N1 virus at North Georgia.
However, the May 10 study abroad trip to Mexico was canceled as a precaution. A number of swine flu cases have been confirmed in Mexico. School officials said the trip will be rescheduled in 2010.
