Hall Ethics Board: no 'foxes guarding the hen house'

By Jerry Gunn Reporter
GAINESVILLE - Hall County Commissioners discussed ethics violation enforcement at the end of a very short 17-minute voting session Thursday.

At the end of that session Commissioners Bobby Banks and Steve Gailey presented a detailed ethics resolution draft aimed primarily at preventing conflict of interest by board members.
The resolution bars commissioners as a group of two or more from for profit business or doing business with Hall County.
The resolution also bars immediate relatives from doing business with the county.

Banks said he wants assurances that the 'fox won't be guarding the hen house' when it comes to ethics complaints against commissioners.
He cited a resolution provision which calls for the Hall County Grand Jury to hear complaints.
