CLEVELAND - The White County Board of Commissioners will soon be meeting to review applications submitted for the vacancy of County Manager. Shanda Smallwood, County Clerk and Director of Human Resources, says 24 applications were received.
The commissioners will be meeting to choose a short list of applicants and then make a selection for the post.
The search for a new county manager began on July 23 when the commissioners fired manager Alton Brown, following his arrest on DUI charges. Â Former county clerk Jean Welborn was appointed to serve as interim manager until a replacement could be found.
