Volleyball: West Hall sweeps tri-match with Johnson, GHS

OAKWOOD - The West Hall girls volleyball team swept a tri-match with Gainesville and Johnson Tuesday at the Johnson gym.

In the opening game, Johnson knocked off Gainesville 25-11, 25-19 behind the play of Caitlin Sloan, who seven aces and four kills. Shelley Farley added seven assists and three aces for the Lady Knights.

In the second game, Gainesville pushed West Hall to three games before falling 25-10, 18-25, 25-14 to the Lady Spartans.

Shaye Roper had a solid two games for Gainesville with four assists, two aces, and one dig. Tiarra Hill had four kills, one ace, and one block for the Lady Elephants.

In the final game of the night, West Hall rallied from one game down to beat Johnson 16-25, 25-11, 25-16. For Johnson, Mary Fiorentino had four kills and six, and Karis Sloan had five kills. Jenna Stone had seven digs for the Lady Knights.

Johnson is now 6-7 overall and 2-1 in Area 7-AAA. Gainesville fell to 1-13 overall and 0-3 in Area play.
