WINDER - Madison County ran out to a 21-14 halftime and then held on in the second half to beat Winder-Barrow 35-29 Friday night in Region 8-AAAA action.
Winder (0-1,0-1 in region)ws led quarterback Christian Davila, who threw for 194 yards and two touchdowns.
Trent Demerritt had a 50-yard TD catch and Tyler Coleman had a 5-yard TD catch for the Bulldoggs.
Kendrick Davis scored on a 40-yard run for Winder and Aaron hendricks blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone for a touchdown.
"It was an exciting game and I thought both teams played well," Winder-Barrow coach Ben Corley said.
The Bulldoggs next will travel to Cedar Shoals. Madison County (1-1, 1-1) will travel to Monroe Area.
