WALNUT GROVE - Jefferson is still looking for its first Region 8-AA win after falling to Walnut Grove 6-0 Tuesday on the road.
The game was tied 0-0 heading into the bottom of the third when Walnut Grove scored three times, highlighted by a two-run double from Hannah Reppert. Walnut Grove added three more runs in the fifth off Jefferson starter Morgan McKinney, who went six innings allowing seven hits and striking out one.
Jefferson (5-6, 0-2 in region) managed just three hits off Walnut Grove hurler Kara Patterson, who fanned six and walked none in a complete-game effort. Only once in the sixth inning - did the Lady Dragons manage to have two base runners on at the same time and no one advanced past second the entire game.
Lindsey Miles, Cason Anderson, and Rana Davis had the three hits for Jefferson.
