BUFORD - Buford opened its Region6-AA softball schedule in style Tuesday against Avondale.
The No. 1-ranked Lady Wolves needed just three innings to while Avondale 15-0 in a game shortened due to the Mercy Rule.
Buford (10-3 overall, 1-0 Region 6-AA) pounded out 10 hits on offense, led by senior Alysha Rudnik with three hits and three RBI. sophomore Kallie Case also had a huge night at the plate with two hits, including a triple, and four RBI and she scored three runs.
Sophomore Lexi Overstreet got the Lady Wolves going early with a three-run home run in the first inning. buford scored nine runs in the first inning and six in the second to quickly put the game away.
Junior Tricia Warbington (3-0) for the win for Buford with two innings of work whith two strike outs, one walk, and no hits allowed.
Buford next will take Kell out of Region 6-AAAAA on Wednesday at Georgia Tech.
