1st Hispanic Baptist church celebrates 25th year

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville church held a historic service Saturday night celebrating its silver anniversary for a very special reason.

Lakewood Baptist Church on Thompson Bridge Road welcomed Hispanic worshipers for the celebration of a church just for them that started in 1985 in Gainesville according to pastor Jesus Sanchez, who has been at the church on Darsey Street since 1992.
