Evans' court hearing delayed

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - A court hearing on drunken driving charges for a former athletic director at the University of Georgia has been delayed until December.

Damon Evans was scheduled to appear in Atlanta Municipal Court on Monday. Instead, Judge Calvin Graves delayed the hearing until Dec. 7 at the request of Evans' lawyer.

Evans did not attend the hearing.

He resigned his post at UGA in July, shortly after he was arrested on charges of drunken driving, failure to maintain a lane and refusing to submit to an alcohol test. He was with a 28-year-old woman who was not his wife.

Evans was replaced by Greg McGarity.
