(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Commissioners have proclaimed Tuesday November 2nd as White County Lady Warriors Softball Champions Day. The board of commissioners in doing so recognized the accomplishments of the Lady Warriors Softball team in claiming their first state title in school history last Saturday.
With the team and their coaches, including head coach John Brown present the commissioners and others attending the meeting gave the team a standing ovation.
In the proclamation the commissioners said the Lady Warriors entered the state finals being ranked sixth in the state, which is the highest ranking in school history; and the lady Warriors have set a school record for the number of homeruns hit this season. The team know as " The Storm" serenaded the commissioners with a their victory song.
Commissioner Joe Campbell said the county would be putting up as soon as possible some temporary signs recognizing the State Champion Team. He said the temporary signs will be used until permanent signs can be erected.
