2 Gainesville women, Alto man killed in wreck

ALTO - An Alto man and two women from Gainesville were killed in that wreck on Georgia 365 in Habersham County Wednesday.

Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire said all three were in a station wagon driven by 53-year-old Karen Faith Silver of Gainesville.

Silver was killed along with 88-year-old Bernice Simmons Pierce of Gainesville and her 90-year-old brother, Felton "Chief" Simmons of Alto. McEntire said Silver was a neighbor of Pierce's.

They died at the scene when Silver turned into the path of a van at the Mount Zion Road intersection near Alto.
