Zoning Board Approves Possible Chick-Fil-A Location

(Cleveland)- The City of Cleveland zoning board Thursday night  approved a zoning change for a tract of land on south main street in Cleveland adjacent to the old Babyland General Hospital from R-1 to B-2, a commercial business classification.  That property is under consideration by Chick-Fil-A for a possible location to open a new restaurant. 

Sam Dixon, zoning board chair said after looking at the facts it was an easy decision, since property around it is business. The board also approved a requested sign variance if the business locates here, because there is a need for extra signage if the business locates on the property.

Both of these decisions will be presented to the Cleveland City Council which has final say so over the  matter on December 13th.  A Chick-Fil-A representative was at last night zoning hearing and answered question from the board.  The decision to  purchase of the property by Chick-Fil-A  and locating of the restaurant all hinges on the decision by the city council in  December.
