Winter cold brings in 2010 Love Light

By Jerry Gunn Reporter
GAINESVILLE - Northeast Georgia Medical Center held its annual Love Light Celebration Monday night as winter cold blew down on the Auxiliary Love Light Garden outside the North Patient Tower.

The Lakeview Academy High School Chorale led off the event in the Rotunda as the audience and the performers braced themselves for the chilly event outside. Certified clinical harpist Deborah Bolding also performed in the Rotunda.
The Sardis Enrichment School Chorus, the Johnson and West Hall High School Choir also performed outside and as soloist Ami Young sang 'O Holy Night', the tree lit up in memory of Hospice patients.

Love Light, sponsored by The Medical Center Auxiliary, celebrates donations for the Medical Center's Hospice program made throughout the year according to event co-chair Dr. Frank Lake, who said Hospice provides services for patients with a life-limiting illness and also helps family members.

"So far we've raised $53,000, Dr. Lake said. "Over the period that we've raised money this way for Hospice with Love Light I think it's been over 41-million."

Dr. Lake and his wife Jane served as 2010 Love Light chairs. Love Light donations can be made year-round in honor or memory of someone, and that person or the family will receive a card notifying them of the gift.
