SUWANEE -- Baseball fans looking to find out just how good Gainesville is may have found their answer Monday.
The Red Elephants remain the only unbeaten team in Region 7-AAA after taking a dominating 18-3 victory in six innings over subregion rival Lambert on the road.
Gainesville (14-1, 9-0 Region 7B-AAA) sent 14 men to the plate and battered three Longhorn pitchers in a 10-run fourth inning to take a lead it would never relinquish. Five different players had RBI hits in the inning and they took advantage of three Lambert errors as well.
Gainesville coach Jeremy Kemp stopped short of declaring it a statement game for his team, which has now won 13 straight games, but he was sporting a grin from ear-to-ear afterward.
