CUMMING - Forsyth Counth authorities have now identified the man who was killed Tuesday when he was crushed by a piece of machinery at a metals plant on Grassland Parkway.
Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Frank Huggins said Wednesday that 53-year-old Jeffrey E. Thurman of Cumming was killed during the incident at A.T. Specialties Metals.
Fire Capt. Jason Shivers said units were called to the plant around 2 p.m. Tuesday.
"We found an adult male employee that again, unfortunately, had been crushed and killed in a piece of heavy machinery," said Shivers.
Shivers said the death appears to be accidental. An investigation is ongoing.
