(Cleveland)- Cleveland Better Home Town officials used Armed Forces Day Saturday to honor the  brave men and women who protect our freedom and dedicate the new Tribute to Heroes Military Pavers Freedom Vigil Monument in front of the White County Courthouse. A large crowd turned out to show their support and watch as a ribbon was cut officially opening the brick paver portion of the monument.Â
Among those speaking at the ceremony was Robert Harkins the father of Sgt. Jason Harkins , who was killed in Iraq by a roadside bomb in 2007.  He told the crowd, when his son won the Silver Star in Iraq for standing over his men during an ambush that was based with the values he learned in White County, in the schools and churches. Â
White County Manager Carol Jackson told the crowd that this was a special day for her because she had the honor of placing brick pavers at the monument in honor of her Great Grand Father, Grand Father, Father and First Cousin. Â
Cleveland Better Home Town , Executive Director said they want to give special thanks to Kevin Wren of HardRock Pavers for his work on the addition to the Freedom Vigil Monument.
