GAINESVILLE - The Hall County State Court trial of a Jackson County man charged with misdemeanor sexual battery has been rescheduled for September following a mistrial of his case Thursday.
Thirty-three year old Bobby Shane Bruce of Pendergrass was on trial for sexually touching a teenaged girl while driving her to her Hall County home in a church van in November 2008, and prosecutors indicated there was evidence of a second teenaged female victim.
Judge B.E. Roberts ruled for mistrial after a prosecution witness inadvertently referred to an alleged third victim during cross examination by the defense after a pre-trial agreement that the third case, now pending in Jackson County, would not be mentioned in the Hall County case.
