Bruce Burch and Friends back at Brenau

By Jerry Gunn Reporter
GAINESVILLE - Six of Nashville's best singer song writers performed Thursday night under the stars on Brenau University's front lawn at the 9th Annual Bruce Burch and Friends Concert honoring Gainesville native and Nashville song writer John Jarrard. Jarrard lost his battle with diabetes in 2001, but his memory lives on in the hit songs he wrote and the celebration of his life held for the second time at Brenau.

It was supper on the grounds and all the country music the audience could enjoy from the big stage mounted on the edge of the campus lawn. Proceeds benefit several of Gainesville's best known charities including Good News at Noon and Good News at Noon Clinics, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Hall County, the Lymphoma Society, Georgia Chapter and the Georgia Food Bank.

The performers included Deanna Bryant, Brice Long, Cody McCarver, Billy Dean, Richard Leigh and Monty Holmes.
