Early votings ends this week; political forums scheduled

GAINESVILLE - The new week brings with it several signifcant dates on the election calendar.

Early voting ends Friday for the many November 8 elections and referendums being held around Georgia, including those for two state House and one state Senate seat in our area.

Meanwhile, qualifying begins Wednesday for a special Flowery Branch City Council election to be held March 6. It will continue through Friday.

In addition, there will be two forums this week for candidates running for the state House seat given up by James Mills a month ago. The first is on Tuesday night at 6:00 at the Spout Springs Library. The second is on Wednesday night at 7:00 at Gainesville State College. There are seven candidates in that race.
