CLEVELAND - A 24-year-old Cleveland man is dead and another is in custody following a shooting at a party in White County early Sunday morning.
"At some point a weapon was pointed at Cory Buck and the weapon discharged," said GBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Brad Parks.
Parks said Buck was shot once in the forehead at a residence on Dean Mountain Road. He said Buck was pronounced dead at 4 a.m. at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Parks says Jason Carr, also of Cleveland, has been arrested and charged with murder.
He said there were nine people at that party and it's not believed there was any kind of altercation between the two prior to the shooting.
The case is still under investigation by the GBI and White County Sheriff's Office.
