Termination appeal for Chance moving forward

CUMMING - An appeal for a fired Forsyth County official is moving through the court system.

The Civil Service Board ruled in December that Jeff Chance's termination as planning director was politically motivated. Despite that determination, the board said it did not have the authority to give Chance his job back. The Atlanta Journal Constitution now reports that Chance's attorney will ask Superior Court Judge Jeffrey Bagley to reinstate Chance.

Papers are due in court April 29.
