UNDATED - Two wrecks at opposite ends of Hall County about 9:00 Thursday morning have left one woman dead and two others injured.

The first involved two cars and occurred near Flowery Branch on Capitola Farm Road at Hog Mountain Road. Officials with the Georgia State Patrol said 47-year-old Nora Elizabeth Martinez of Gainesville was traveling west on Capitola Farm Road when she ran a stop sign and was struck by a Dodge Durango driven by 42-year-old Winston Haygood of Flowery Branch.

They said Haygood was not seriously injured but Martinez had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she pronounced dead.

GSP officials said no charges will be filed in that accident.

Hall County Fire & EMS Chief David Kimbrell said the second accident, which happened a few minutes later on I-985 in Rabbittown, resulted in one person being life-flighted to a hospital and another was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital.

Authorities said a life fight helicopter was requested for the Capitola Farm Road accident but was grounded by fog in the Atlanta area.
