Two UGA employees arrested for p-card abuse

By Staff
ATHENS - Two employees at the University of Georgia are in trouble for using their state-issued purchasing cards, known as p-cards, to make personal purchases.

Both women worked for UGA's College of Education, according to reports in the Athens Banner Herald.

Laura Cobb Watson, 47, of Statham and Kathy Ingram Knudson, 51, of Watkinsville both turned themselves in to university police. Both are free on bond.

The newspaper said UGA Police Chief Jimmy Williamson was out of town Friday and was unavailable for comment. Other officers could not say how much money is involved in the purchases.
