Jenkins services set for Saturday

JASPER - Funeral services have been scheduled for Saturday, January 7 for retired North Georgia Congressman Ed Jenkins.

Services will be held at Jasper First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Burial will take place Sunday at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Blairsville, according to officials at Cagle Funeral Home in Jasper. The body will lie in state from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church prior to burial.

Jenkins, who served 16 years as Georgia's 9th district Congressman, died Sunday at the age of 78 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.
