GSP says it will 'make corrections' after trooper accident

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) Georgia State Patrol Capt. Paul Cosper says corrections will be made after a review of a former state trooper's actions in a collision that killed the wife of Atlanta Braves trainer Jeff Porter.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that former trooper Donald Crozier had a history of wrecks five accidents since late 2008 including the New Year's Eve collision that claimed the life of 54-year-old Kathy Porter.

Crozier's lawyer Mike Hawkins says that most of the driving incidents in Crozier's personnel records are ``PIT maneuvers'' typically used by officers to stop vehicles.

Hawkins told The Associated Press that Crozier never missed a day of work due to disciplinary action as a result of any accidents, nor was he ever required to take any additional training.
