White Co. water work has two benefits

By Dean Dyer WRWH Radio
CLEVELAND, GA - White County Water Authority crews just completed installation of water lines and fire hydrants along a section of Town Creek Road.

The stretch starts at Hooper Road north and includes all of Adair Mill Road over to U.S. Highway 129 north of Cleveland.

Residents in those areas can now take advantage of county water service and the potential to save money.

With the completion of the project, the area's Insurance Service Office rating or ISO has been improved. White County Fire Chief Dickie Howard said it means a lower classification rating. Insurance companies use the rating in part to determine premiums.

"So the residents of that area may be eligible for the class 6 rating which will reduce their insurance premium," Howard said.

He urged those in the affected area to contact their insurance agent.

"It would be a good thing along that corridor especially because those hydrants have just gone in service. If there has been an installation of any fire hydrants near the residence anywhere else in the county recently it would be a good time to check with their insurance representative also."

The authority is expanding the water supply system as grants and money becomes available.
