Four arrested in White Co. pot bust

CLEVELAND - Four people were arrested Sunday in White County in connection with a marijuana grow operation.

In a news release, White County Sheriff Neal Walden said the Appalachian Drug Task Force and the White County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on Sunday at 231 Skitts Mountain Road in Cleveland. The search warrant was executed following a tip received by deputies of the White County Sheriff's Office.

Walden said, on execution of the warrant, agents and deputies discovered an indoor marijuana grow. The grow consisted of plants in various stages of the manufacturing process. During the operation, according to the news release, officers seized a total of 107 marijuana plants valued at $128,400, approximately three and a half pounds of processed marijuana valued at $4,200 and $800 in US Currency.

Walden said the following were arrested at the scene: 34-year old Joel Bryan Andrew Veal of Oakwood, 32-year old Jonathan Lloyd Summers of Dawsonville, 31-year old Franklin A. Castillo of Farmingville, NY and 28-year old David J. Headen of Patchogue, NY. Each suspect was charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
