Dawsonville authorities keep mum on movie project

By B.J. Williams
DAWSONVILLE - While a hotel owner in Dawsonville is talking about Hollywood filmmakers coming to town to shoot a motion picture, local officials said Wednesday they can't release details on the project.

The Associated Press says Pravin Patel, the owner of Amicalola Lodge, has been renovating his hotel in anticipation of Clint Eastwood and other stars coming to town to film "The Trouble with the Curve."

A spokesman with the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce said he knows about the project through Georgia's Camera Ready program, but he's been told not to release details to the public.

Also, a spokeswoman with the City of Dawsonville, said the city hasn't been formally contacted about moviemakers coming to the area.

Patel said he has been told by producers that they'll be filming sometime next month. He said producers also told him they will shoot scenes in Athens and Macon.
