GAINESVILLE - A Jefferson woman, being held at the Hall County Jail, died after going into cardiac arrest Thursday morning.
Hall County Sheriff's officials said they have asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to research the death of 29-year-old Sabrina Mitchell, which is standard procedure when an inmate dies.
Authorities said Mitchell had been arrested in Hall County for traffic violations, but was awaiting transfer to another facility for charges in Jackson and Clarke counties.
In a press release, Hall County Sgt. Kiley Sargent said Mitchell became ill and fainted around 8:00 a.m. before going into cardiac arrest.
Authorities do not suspect foul play. An autopsy will be performed to determine the exact cause of Mitchell's death.
