Cleveland authorities say same man wanted in second armed robbery

By Dean Dyer, WRWH
CLEVELAND - The same man believed responsible for the armed robbery of a convenience store north of Cleveland Friday night struck again Sunday night, according to authorities.

Cleveland Police Chief John Foster said the latest incident happened at the Express Mart on North Main Street.

"He was armed again with a knife...he did not get anything last night, said Foster. "He did get into an altercation with the clerk and fled the scene."

Foster said the attempted armed robbery followed a Friday night robbery at the Highway 129 North Chevron; the suspect got away with cash in that incident.

Foster said no one was injured in either incident. Both incidents occurred around 10:15 p.m.

He described the suspect they are looking for as "possibly a dark-skinned white male or Hispanic about 5'7" to 5'9"."

Police said they recovered clothing items following the Friday night incident, and Foster said they will be sharing descriptions with the media in hopes someone will recognize them and give them a call.

The police chief said anyone who might have seen anything unusual at either location is asked to call the police department at 706-348-7078.
