Gwinnett County meth house demolished

By Staff
LILBURN - Work crews demolished a Gwinnett Couty home which neighbors said had become a constant reminder of a fire that killed three children.

Residents gathered to watch Wednesday's demolition of the home on Spring Mill Drive, was the scene of a February 2011 blaze that authorities described as a meth fire.

The fire killed three children who were ages 4, 3 and 18 months. At the time, authorities said they believed someone might have been cooking meth in the home.

In addition to drug paraphernalia, thousands of dollars were found stuffed into a wall of the home following the fire, according to authorities.

The mother of the three children is in jail charged with their murders, as is another suspect. A third suspect remains at large.

Workers said they expected to have the site cleared by Thursday.
