HOSCHTON -- Mill Creek bounced back from last week's heartbreaking loss to North Gwinnett with a dominating 43-3 win over Duluth on Friday in Hoschton.
The Hawks (5-3, 3-3 Region 7-AAAAAA) rolled up 437 yards of offense, while limiting the Wildcats to 206 yards.
Mill Creek did most of its damage on the ground, rushing for 305 yards, including eight carries for 122 yards and a touchdown for DeVozea Felton. Carter Governale also rushed for 62 yards and a score on four carries, while Johnathan Hawkins added a touchdown and 37 yards on six carries. Andrew Sciara rounded things out with 40 yards and a touchdown on three carries.
Hawks quarterback Daniel David completed 8 of 14 passes for 132 yards, including four completions to Eric Ritland for 69 yards.
Mill Creek led just 15-3 at the half but ripped off four unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter to win comfortably.
The Hawks are on a bye next week before traveling to Habersham Central on Nov. 1.
