ATLANTA (AP) Police and FBI agents are searching for a suspect in the robbery of an armored truck south of Atlanta.
The man was able to wrestle a money bag away from an armed guard during the Tuesday afternoon heist, authorities said. He made off with an undisclosed amount of money.
The crime happened shortly after 1 p.m. Tuesday at a BP gas station on Cascade Road, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
The man had approached the armored truck guard leaving the convenience store and snatched the bag, Fulton County police Cpl. Kay Lester said.
"He motioned for a weapon but he did not present one," Lester said.
She said there was a scuffle between the suspect and the guard, ending in shots fired by the guard.
Police said they were searching for a gray Nissan Pathfinder with a Missouri license plate that possibly has a window broken or shot out, police said.
