Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl coach speaks at RMA

GAINESVILLE - Former National Football League Coach Dan Reeves was Wednesday's Character Development speaker at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville. Reeves spoke of leadership qualities, and how important it is in life not to quit.

"I talk about character and about leadership, the qualities that most every football team has to have to be successful," Reeves said.

1998's National Football League Coach of the Year said football players and military school cadets have to learn the same lessons.

"Cadets learn all about team work and how you're depending on other people to help you out, and that's exactly what football is," the Coach added. "When I look back and see the people who influenced me the most other than my mom and dad, the coaches that I had in high school, college and the pros, I'm just thankful that I got an opportunity to be around men like that."

A career player and later coach during his 39 years on the grid iron, Reeves led the Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl in 1999. In 1997, he was named head coach of the Falcons, which he coached for seven seasons and compiled a record of 49-59-1. In 1998 the Falcons went 14
