Hall Co. firefighters battle house fire in New Holland

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County family lost their home in the New Holland Mill community Tuesday morning.

Hall County Fire Chief David Kimbrell said the fire broke out at the house at 5 Carolina Street just before 6 a.m. He said when fire crews arrived, the two story mill house was heavily involved in flames.

"The fire did do extensive damage, basically burned the roof off," said Kimbrell.

Firefighters did treat one child at the scene for smoke inhalation, but no other injuries were reported.

Kimbrell said there was no confirmed cause for the fire at this point.
